MOURNING the death of Kenneth L. LaCour, family
man, distinguished citizen and devoted member of his
community

WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow that this Legislative Body,
representing the people of the State of New York, is moved this day to
pay tribute to an eminent gentleman of indomitable faith and dedication
whose public service and countless accomplishments will forever stand as
a paradigm and inspiration for others; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth L. LaCour of Ossining, New York, died on Thursday,
December 22, 2022, at the age of 82; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth L. LaCour was born to Esther (Severin) and Leon
LaCour, Sr. on December 24, 1939, in Dallas, Texas; and

WHEREAS, After moving to New York, Kenneth L. LaCour was a guidance
counselor for many years at Ossining High School, where he truly made a
difference in the lives of thousands of students; and

WHEREAS, Predeceased by his parents and brother Leon LaCour, Jr.,
Kenneth L. LaCour is survived by his wife, Sarah; two sons, Samuel and
Jean-Pierre; two daughters, Emma and Antoinette; four grandchildren,
Alycia, Alexis, Julian, and Jessica; one great-grandchild, Calvin; and
one niece, Tracie Raines; as well as numerous friends and former
colleagues and students who will long cherish his memory; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth L. LaCour was an outstanding educational leader and
professional whose dedication and achievements were instrumental in
developing character and academic excellence in the young people of New
York State; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Kenneth L. LaCour leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Kenneth L. LaCour, family man, distinguished citizen
and devoted member of his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Kenneth L. LaCour.
