MOURNING the death of Jazmine Chandler-Tabb,
devoted wife and mother, and distinguished member of
her community
WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who,
through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better
the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive
impact on the lives of its residents; Jazmine Chandler-Tabb was one such
individual; and
WHEREAS, It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that this
Legislative Body records the passing of Jazmine Chandler-Tabb, noting
the significance of her purposeful life and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb of the Bronx, New York, died on April
7, 2023, at the age of 36; and
WHEREAS, Born to Paulette Chandler and Lionel Douglin on May 27,
1986, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb graduated in 2005 from Bishop Loughlin
Memorial High School where she was a dedicated scholar, devoted friend,
and standout basketball player; and
WHEREAS, After earning a college scholarship, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb
went on to attend Virginia State University, joining its Chi Gamma Xi
Multicultural Sorority and continuing to build her everlasting
friendships; and
WHEREAS, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb and the love of her life, Natiya
"Nikki" Joseph, were united in marriage on May 3, 2021, and together
they raised their daughter, Aniya; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to local youth,
Jazmine Chandler-Tabb worked as a Sports-based youth development coach
at Urban Dove Charter School; she was inspired by her students who she
truly loved; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this talented young woman was an entrepreneur
and ran two companies, A Wells Security and Inner Child Network; and
WHEREAS, Renowned for her smile, stature, sense of humor, big hugs,
and beautiful hazel brown eyes, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb's inviting spirit
and positive energy have left a lasting impression on all those lucky
enough to have known her; and
WHEREAS, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb's infinite selflessness and
benevolence will shine on through her family's vivid and happy memories;
her insight and strength will forever serve as a beacon of love, light
and hope to the countless lives she touched; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Jazmine Chandler-Tabb leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing woman; she
will be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Jazmine Chandler-Tabb, and to express its deepest
condolences to her family; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Jazmine Chandler-Tabb.
