CONGRATULATING Ward Melville High School upon the
occasion of being named a 2022 National Blue Ribbon
School by the United States Department of Education

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those institutions that by achieving outstanding success in
their educational programs have inspired and brought pride to our
community and State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Ward Melville High School upon the occasion of being named
a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of
Education; and

WHEREAS, Ward Melville High School is a public high school in the
Three Village Central School District in East Setauket of Suffolk
County, New York on Long Island, serving grades 10-12; and

WHEREAS, For the past 55 years, Ward Melville High School has
provided a nurturing environment in which every young person can succeed
and where staff, parents, students and the community all work together
to promote a positive educational experience for the entire student
body; and

WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Award affirms the hard
work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe
and welcoming schools where students master challenging content; and

WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Flag gracing a school building is
a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning and serves
as a model for schools still striving for excellence; and

WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award stands
as a resolute testimony to Ward Melville High School's standards of
excellence, its uncompromising values, unparalleled dedication, and the
special teamwork of its family of students, parents, teachers and
administrators, who share common goals and uncommon expectations; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Ward Melville High School upon the occasion of being named
a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of
Education; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Principal William S. Bernhard, Ward Melville High School.
