CONGRATULATING Benner Insurance Service upon the
occasion of achieving 42 years in business

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Benner Insurance Service upon the occasion of achieving 42
years in business; and

WHEREAS, Located in Rome, New York, Benner Insurance Service has
been a cornerstone of the community, accommodating the needs of its
residents, for the last four decades; and

WHEREAS, Owners, John and Alice Benner, have sold personal and
commercial insurance to their customers since 1982; they feel rewarded
for solving insurance problems for numerous individuals and families;
and

WHEREAS, After the closing of another insurance company with which
Benner Insurance Service has provided most of their personal insurance
policies, John and Alice Benner, both in their 80s this year, decided to
retire, selling their business to a company in New Hartford; and

WHEREAS, After taking care of countless insurance customers over the
years, Alice Benner looks forward to focusing on her family and caring
for her husband; and

WHEREAS, Benner Insurance Service and its owners, John and Alice
Benner, have been irreplaceable pillars of the Rome community; they will
be greatly missed on the corner of Jasper Street and Erie Boulevard; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body, as well as the residents of the City
of Rome, applaud John and Alice Benner for their successful business,
which contributed to the growth of the community, and the services they
provided for their neighbors' needs; and

WHEREAS, The success of Benner Insurance Service is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its hardworking and dedicated owners, John
and Alice Benner, who will stand as role models to all great business
owners in the State and beyond; their involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
undertakings; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant and purposeful role in improving
the quality of life in its community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Benner Insurance Company upon the occasion of achieving 42
years in business and to wish John and Alice Benner joy in their
retirement and success in all future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to John and Alice Benner, owners of Benner Insurance
Service.
