HONORING Sergeant Lacey E. Malbeuf upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the
George M. Searle Memorial Award by the New York
State Police Department on May 16, 2024

WHEREAS, Law enforcement officers from the State of New York put
their lives on the line day in and day out for the citizens of this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers who would devote themselves to public
service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing for the
care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
deserve the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; Sergeant Lacey
E. Malbeuf of Natural Bridge, New York, is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sergeant
Lacey E. Malbeuf upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the George M. Searle Memorial Award by the New York State Police
Department, to be celebrated at its 48th Annual Superintendent's
Commendation and Awards Day Ceremony on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the
University at the State Police Academy in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, This prestigious award was established to honor outstanding
individuals, dedicated to their service to law enforcement, whose
valiant efforts protect the people of New York State; and

WHEREAS, On October 15, 2023, State Police Cazenovia Academy
welcomed 286 recruits into its 214th Class, marking only the second time
in the agency's history a training took place at an auxiliary academy;
as a vital member of the officer team, Sergeant Lacey E. Malbeuf's role
in transitioning Cazenovia College into a State Police Basic Training
Program was indispensable; and

WHEREAS, Despite a challenging time frame, Sergeant Lacey E. Malbeuf
effectively managed numerous tasks, including personnel selection,
building maintenance, coordination with property management, facility
cleaning, internet and phone system installation, school/community
outreach, as well as policy development, all within 55 working days; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Lacey E. Malbeuf's creative input was invaluable
as she transformed the campus into a State Police facility adorned with
memorabilia reflecting the rich history of the New York State Police,
and memorializing its fallen members; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, her energy, positive attitude, interpersonal
skills, and problem-solving abilities played a crucial role in the

success of this event, and reflect the finest traditions of the New York
State Police; and

WHEREAS, The dedicated efforts of public servants, such as Sergeant
Lacey E. Malbeuf, who unselfishly devote their lives to the preservation
of order and the protection of others are worthy of the full praise of
this Legislative Body and the people of the State of New York; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sergeant Lacey E. Malbeuf upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the George M. Searle Memorial Award by the New York State
Police; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sergeant Lacey E. Malbeuf.
