COMMEMORATING the 2024 Alba Life School's Festival
and Graduation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of commitment and high achievement whose
purpose and endeavors prove a dedication to the pursuit of excellence in
the education of the youth of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 2024 Alba Life School's Festival and Graduation; and

WHEREAS, The importance of community, respect, integrity,
compassion, and the value of education cannot be understated in the
molding of today's youth- the next generation of leaders; Alba Life
School epitomizes these principles, putting them to practice each and
every day, resulting in a meaningful, well-rounded education for every
student who passes through its doors; and

WHEREAS, The steadfast and unyielding commitment of parents,
educators, and administrators to provide the highest quality education
for students has become the hallmark and tradition of Alba Life School;
and

WHEREAS, The Alba Life School implements its Albanian language
tradition learning program in all neighborhoods of New York in public
school classrooms and online, as well as teaching history, culture,
traditions, legends, dance, and folk songs from various parts of Albania
and Kosova; classes are taught by qualified teachers, most of them are
licensed in both Albania and the United States; and

WHEREAS, Albanian immigrants and spouses, Qemal and Kozeta Zylo,
founded the channel Alba Life TV in February of 2007, and the Alba Life
School in May of 2007; it was of the utmost importance to Mr. and Mrs.
Zylo to create Alba Life since thousands of Albanian-American children
in the Diaspora were being assimilated and not speaking the Albanian
language; and

WHEREAS, In working to foster community and cultural pride, the Alba
Life School celebrates holidays with special programs open to parents
and the community, including the Independence Day of Albania and Kosova,
the End-of-Year holidays, Teacher's Day, the Festival of Albanian
Schools, and the closing of the academic year; and

WHEREAS, Within the 21st century, Alba Life School stands prepared
to reach out, in earnest and enthusiastic quest of its mission, to
promote the maximum growth of every student, to foster cultural
enrichment, and build skills which will carry its students and the
citizens of its community into the future; and

WHEREAS, The success of Alba Life School is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its esteemed educators and staff members, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive

commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution, students, and
the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, it is with great honor that this Legislative
Body recognizes the follow individuals for their unrelenting commitment
to investing in our State and Nation's most precious resource, our
youth: Qemal Zylo, Founder and Director of Albanian TV and School "Alba
Life"; Dr. Valbona Zylo Watkins, Director of Curriculum; Kozeta Zylo,
Coordinator and teacher; and teachers, Entela Muda, Elona Shkreta,
Gresila Basha, Rozeta Hyseni, Fatlinda Gashi, Erinda Isufaj, Helena
Lubonja Ujkaj, Albana Lazri, Vjollca Skenderaj, and Mehrije Shala in
Outreach; and

WHEREAS, The Alba Life School is proudly aware of its distinguished
past, eager to fulfill its present commitment to parents, students, and
the community, and planning with vision and purpose for the ebb and flow
of growth and positive change it will encounter in the years to come;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorating the 2024 Alba Life School's Festival and Graduation; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alba Life School.
