LESLISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kathy Brousseau
upon the occasion of her designation as the 2024
Zontian of the Year by The Zonta Club of Albany

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations and individuals within the State of New York
whose focus and intent have made substantial impact on the quality of
life in their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kathy Brousseau upon the occasion of her designation as the 2024 Zontian
of the Year by The Zonta Club of Albany; and

WHEREAS, Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of
individuals working together to build a better world for women and
girls; and

WHEREAS, The Zonta Club of Albany, founded in 1929, advocates for
women and children locally and worldwide; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Saratoga County, Kathy Brousseau joined The
Zonta Club of Albany and Zonta International in 2022; she has served The
Zonta Club of Albany as a Director, The Zonta Club of Saratoga as
treasurer, and has exemplified Zonta's mission of community and
international service; and

WHEREAS, Amongst 26,000 Zonta members in 63 countries, Kathy
Brousseau has continued The Zonta Club of Albany's 95-year tradition of
giving back to the community; and

WHEREAS, The Zonta Club of Albany is affiliated with programs such
as The Next Step, The Capital City Rescue Mission's New Faith Family
Center, Dr. Robert Paeglow's Koinonia Primary Care Clinic, The St.
Paul's Center, The Albany Memorial Hospital Chapel, and The Legal
Project; and

WHEREAS, Kathy Brousseau was an instrumental member of the planning
committee for the 95th Anniversary Celebration of The Zonta Club of
Albany; she also supported many hours of technology support to the
planning committee; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kathy Brousseau upon the occasion of her designation as the 2024
Zontian of the Year by The Zonta Club of Albany; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kathy Brousseau.
