Assembly Resolution No. 278

CONGRATULATING the Shenendehowa Girls Varsity Swim
& Dive Team and Head Coach Alyssa Di Fabio upon the
occasion of achieving the distinction of the number
one ranking in New York State for the 2022 season

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical
development of the young people of this State, preparing them for the
future by instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a
standard of healthy living, imparting a desire for success and
developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, The Shenendehowa Girls Varsity Swim & Dive Team attained
New York State's number one ranking for the year 2022 after an
outstanding season; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, the Shenendehowa Girls Varsity Swim & Dive
Team has been a model of consistency having garnered the State's number
one ranking for a 2nd consecutive year, back-to-back Section 2, Division
1 titles, and a 9-0 overall record for the dual meet season; and

WHEREAS, In addition to exceptional team performance on diving
boards and in swimming pools, the Shenendehowa Plainsmen excelled in the
classroom garnering a collective 95.7 grade point average; and

WHEREAS, The athletic talent displayed by this team is due in great
part to the efforts of Head Coach Alyssa Di Fabio, a skilled and
inspirational tutor, respected for her ability to develop potential into
excellence; and

WHEREAS, The hallmarks of the Shenendehowa Girls Varsity Swim & Dive
Team, from the opening meet of the season to its recognition as the New
York State's top program, were a sisterhood of athletic ability, of good
sportsmanship, of honor and of scholarship, demonstrating that these
student-athletes are second to none; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Alyssa Di Fabio, and her Assistant Coaches have
done a superb job in guiding, molding, and inspiring the team members
toward their goals; and

WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride
and accomplishment, and Head Coach Alyssa Di Fabio and these exceptional
athletes have clearly made a contribution to the spirit of excellence,
which is a tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Shenendehowa Girls Varsity Swim & Dive Team; its
members: Allison Bieniek, Izabella Czajkowski, Morgan Davey, Sophia
Donofrio, Calista Fasser, Isabella Gayle, Charlotte Gaylord, Mahika
Guha, Helena Gutjahr, Hannah Harpootlian, Zoe Lassetter, Sophia McCoy,

Delaney Michels, Amber Mohammed, Alana Pacinella, Carlie Pazderski,
Varshana Ramgulam, Katrina Ryan, Samantha Sands, Katie Schloth, Miriana
Shorkey, Genevieve Silaika, Sophie Silaika, Riley Simmons, Ishita Singh,
Ataya Southwick, Anna Stoup, Addy Tolan, Evelyn Vieira, Emma Walter,
Erica Wang, Annabelle Zhang, Stella Zhang, Sophie Ziter; Head Coach
Alyssa Di Fabio, Assistant Coaches Dennis Hogan, Dave Washburn and Kate
Beidl on their outstanding season and overall team record; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Shenendehowa Girls Varsity Swim & Dive Team, the
aforementioned coaches, Athletic Director Christopher Culnan, Principal
Ron Agostinoni and Superintendent Dr. Oliver Robinson.
