CONGRATULATING Emily Sindoni upon the occasion of
capturing the 126-pound wrestling title at the
National High School Coaches Association Girls
National Wrestling Tournament on March 26, 2023

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Emily
Sindoni upon the occasion of capturing the 126-pound wrestling title at
the National High School Coaches Association Girls National Wrestling
Tournament on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia; and

WHEREAS, In front of a capacity crowd and a fan base of family,
friends and teammates, Emily Sindoni defeated her opponent from Maryland
in a decisive 7-1 victory to earn her second National title; and

WHEREAS, In addition to this monumental triumph, Emily Sindoni won
the 132-pound wrestling title at the inaugural NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling
Invitational on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the SRC Arena and Events
Center on the campus of Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New
York; and

WHEREAS, A standout wrestler for the Tioga High School Tigers, Emily
Sindoni ended her season with an outstanding record, and was the
recipient of the prestigious national Tricia Saunders High School
Excellence Award by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, which was based
equally on outstanding wrestling success, scholastic achievement and
citizenship or community service; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as wrestling, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Coaches Kris Harrington, Jason Bellis, Jon
Martin, and Ryan Macwhinnie worked hard to hone the skills of this
champion, teaching this outstanding athlete lessons which will prove
invaluable both on and off the mat; and

WHEREAS, Emily Sindoni has clearly utilized dedication,
determination and teamwork in providing a lasting contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of her school; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Emily Sindoni upon the occasion of capturing the 126-pound
National High School Coaches Association Girls National Wrestling
Tournament on March 26, 2023; and be it further


RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Emily Sindoni, and Coaches Kris Harrington, Jason Bellis,
Jon Martin, and Ryan Macwhinnie.
