Assembly Resolution No. 682

COMMENDING Alan Dagistino upon the occasion of
being named the 2022 Veteran of the Year by the
Rockland County Veterans Coordinating Council

WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York,
who have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this
country's freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace
in peace time, deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend those
who have served in times of active conflict, as well as those who have
served in times of peace; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Alan Dagistino upon the occasion of being named the 2022 Veteran
of the Year by the Rockland County Veterans Coordinating Council; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion was celebrated at a Ceremony on
November 6, 2022, in front of the Rockland County Courthouse in New
City, New York; and

WHEREAS, Alan Dagistino proudly served his country as a member of
the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Alan Dagistino is a life member of the local chapter of the
Vietnam Veterans of America 333, and has held many positions in the
group over the years, including President; and

WHEREAS, Alan Dagistino is a shining example of the impact a person
can have when they selflessly serve their country and then go on to
serve their community; and

WHEREAS, Our Nation's veterans deserve to be recognized, commended,
and thanked by the people of the State of New York for their service and
for their dedication to their communities, their State, and their
Nation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Alan Dagistino upon the occasion of being named the 2023 Veteran
of the Year by the Rockland County Veterans Coordinating Council; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alan Dagistino.
