MEMORIALIZING Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim
August 16, 2023, as Hispanic Media Day in the State
of New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
impact, in a positive and substantial way, the contributions the
Hispanic media has had on all the communities in the State of New York;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim, August 16, 2023, as
Hispanic Media Day; and

WHEREAS, Since the Hispanic media has more than 50 years of
experience in the communication of radio, press and television, their
contributions are vital to the development of the community at large;
and

WHEREAS, A majority of the Hispanic media are truly professionals in
their areas of work; and

WHEREAS, The Hispanic media's contributions have allowed the growth
of the Hispanic community and the overall development of media
established in the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, The growth of the Hispanic media has constituted in the
growth of small businesses and the community at large; and

WHEREAS, The Hispanic media in general has made significant
contributions to the overall development of American society; and

WHEREAS, The Hispanic media has and will always play a decisive role
for generations in the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim August 16, 2023, as
Hispanic Media Day in the State of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New
York.
