HONORING Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery
upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Large Business of the Year Award by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce on March 21, 2024
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Large Business of the Year Award by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its Annual Awards Gala
on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Samuel's Grande Manor in Clarence, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery is a
second-generation family business, established in 1980, in Clarence
Center, New York; and
WHEREAS, In 2014, the growing business built their state-of-the-art
garden center at 8441 County Road in East Amherst; and
WHEREAS, Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery grows over 800
varieties of annuals, perennials, and vegetable plants in their one and
a half acre greenhouse, and is home to the largest selection of
houseplants in Western New York; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, the nursery offers a wide variety of shrubs
and trees along with mulch, topsoil, and natural stone products; the
landscape division specializes in residential and commercial
installation and clean-ups; for do-it-yourselfers, Lavocat's offers
landscape design and delivery services to make every home's exterior
charming and aesthetic; and
WHEREAS, Inside the garden center, patrons can immerse themselves in
a tranquil environment equipped with an impressive Koi Pond and tropical
garden area; the friendly staff provides excellent customer service and
can answer all gardening questions; and
WHEREAS, Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery is also dedicated
to giving back to the community in a variety of ways; throughout the
year, they open their doors to help other businesses sell their products
and services in different vendor events and other partnership
opportunities; they also work with many small and large non-profit
organizations through different fundraisers and donations; and
WHEREAS, The team at Lavocat's has also been focusing on
sustainability initiatives; this includes trending towards using 100%
biodegradable pots and growing containers; they also offer a plastic
return program, recycling and reusing customers plastic containers; and
WHEREAS, The success of Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery is
in direct correlation to the efforts of its dedicated owners and staff,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and
the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery's success,
recognizes its contributions to the local and State economies, and
extends its highest commendation to the business and its employees,
fully confident that, in its future, it will enjoy the same success
which has so characterized its past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor honoring Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the Large Business of the Year Award
by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce on March 21, 2024; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lavocat's Family Greenhouse and Nursery, Clarence Center,
New York.
