HONORING Debbie Snyder upon the occasion of being
named Grand Marshal of the 21st Annual Irish Parade
of Camden, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
individuals of true purpose and worthy accomplishment who work
diligently to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Debbie Snyder upon the occasion of being named Grand Marshal of the 21st
Annual Irish Parade of Camden, New York, taking place on Saturday, March
23, 2024; and

WHEREAS, The tradition of the Irish Parade of Camden is steeped in
years of history and brings members of the community and those from
further reaches together in celebration of Irish culture and
accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Debbie Snyder is a lifelong resident of Camden, New York,
and holds stake in the town as a former business owner and devoted
member of her community; she used to own The Good Life Tavern and other
businesses; and

WHEREAS, Demonstrating true commitment to and love for the Irish
Parade, Debbie Snyder has worked to raise money to ensure the annual
event could be held, justly earning herself the esteemed designation of
Grand Marshal; and

WHEREAS, The parade features four bands: the Camden Continentals,
the Syracuse Scottish Pipe Band, the Mohawk Valley Frasiers, and the
10th Mountain Division Band from Fort Drum; several area fire
departments will also bring out their emergency vehicles for children
and adults alike to marvel at throughout the parade; and

WHEREAS, Through this heartfelt and compassionate expression, as
well as through their sustained commitment to the cultural vitality of
their Irish heritage, the Irish-American people of the Camden area and
the State of New York bear witness to the deep faith and love of
humanity which is their rich tradition; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Debbie Snyder upon the occasion of being named Grand Marshal of
the 21st Annual Irish Parade of Camden, New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Debbie Snyder, Grand Marshal of the 21st Camden Irish
Parade.
