CONGRATULATING Brayden Fahrbach upon the occasion
of winning a NYSPHSAA Division II State Wrestling
Championship Title

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Brayden Fahrbach upon the occasion of winning a NYSPHSAA Division II
State Wrestling Championship Title on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at
the MVP Arena in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, In a competitive matchup, Mount Sinai senior Brayden
Fahrbach won the NYSPHSAA Division II State Wrestling Championship Title
in a 6-5 decision over Gianni Silvestro of Tioga High School at 138
pounds, stopping numerous takedown attempts in the final seconds to
secure his second consecutive state title; and

WHEREAS, For his outstanding achievements in the sport of wrestling,
including four straight Suffolk Division II titles, Brayden Fahrbach was
named the state tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler; and

WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors of red, black, and
white, family, friends, and the community at large loyally and
enthusiastically supported the Mustang throughout his journey as he
ended his season with an impressive 39-0 season record and a 198-13
career record; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as wrestling which demands athletic
prowess, endurance, strength, and mental focus, Head Coach Matt
Armstrong worked hard to hone the skills of this State Champion, Brayden
Fahrbach, teaching this outstanding athlete lessons which will prove
invaluable both on and off the mat; and

WHEREAS, Brayden Fahrbach of Mount Sinai High School has clearly
utilized dedication, determination, and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Brayden Fahrbach upon the occasion of winning a NYSPHSAA
Division II State Wrestling Championship Title; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Brayden Fahrbach and Head Coach Matt Armstrong.
