CONGRATULATING the American Pakistani Public
Affairs Committee for its contributions to New York
State
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those who
foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural diversity which
strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee for its
contributions to New York State, promoting understanding and cooperation
between New York State and the Provinces of Punjab and Sindh in
Pakistan, and recognizing their efforts in organizing cultural events,
educational programs, and business initiatives that have strengthened
the ties between the people of New York State and the citizens of Punjab
and Sindh; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body further encourages continued
collaboration between New York State and the Provinces of Punjab and
Sindh, with the aim of fostering friendship, mutual respect, and
economic partnerships that benefit the citizens of all regions; and
WHEREAS, The American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC) is
a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the interests of the
Pakistani-American community and promoting understanding and friendship
between the United States and Pakistan; and
WHEREAS, APPAC has been instrumental in fostering relations between
New York State and the Provinces of Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan,
contributing to cultural exchange, economic development, and mutual
cooperation; and
WHEREAS, The work of APPAC has enhanced the bond between the people
of New York State and the citizens of Punjab and Sindh by promoting
goodwill, tolerance and collaboration between the two regions; and
WHEREAS, There is a strong desire to foster a mutually beneficial,
bilateral relationship between New York State and Pakistan; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to acknowledge various
cultures of people who add to the overall diversity of our State and
Nation, and on this occasion, we take the opportunity to recognize the
contributions made by the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee,
and extend best wishes to all of its dedicated members; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor those
organizations and individuals of significance who add strength, vigor,
and inspiration to the ethnic diversity and quality of life in the
communities of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee for its
contributions to New York State; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee.
