HONORING Aleksandra Julien upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2025 Citizenship
Advancement Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people, within this great Empire State, who
have made strong contributions to their communities and serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Aleksandra Julien, upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2025 Citizenship Advancement Award, to be recognized at a senior
scholarship ceremony at Sanford H. Calhoun High School on Wednesday, May
28, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Aleksandra Julien, committed to hard work, has achieved
excellence in academics, community service, and extracurricular
endeavors, justly earning this esteemed recognition; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Sanford H. Calhoun High School, Aleksandra
Julien is a remarkable young woman whose high school experience has been
defined by her growth, leadership, and unwavering commitment to making a
difference; and

WHEREAS, As Vice President of both the Animal Advocates Club and the
International Buddy Club, Aleksandra Julien has demonstrated exceptional
leadership skills and an understanding of the importance of empathy and
cultural exchange; and

WHEREAS, Aleksandra Julien's role as Social Media Manager for the
Growth Mindset Club showcases her ability to inspire and engage her
peers in meaningful dialogues about personal development and resilience;
a testament to her compassionate nature, she has dedicated countless
hours volunteering at the Merrick Library where she helps young children
develop a love for reading and tutors them in various subjects; and

WHEREAS, Aleksandra Julien's initiative in organizing the Shelter
Drive further highlights her organizational skills and her commitment to
addressing community needs; through these experiences, she has
cultivated a sense of responsibility and a deep-seated belief in the
power of collective action; and

WHEREAS, Aleksandra Julien's summer job at a senior living facility
exemplifies her adaptability and willingness to step outside her comfort
zone; here, she embraced multiple roles, gaining invaluable insights
into the challenges and joys of working with the elderly; her ability to
connect with residents and staff alike speaks to her genuine kindness
and her capacity to bridge generational gaps with grace; and

WHEREAS, To further her education, Aleksandra Julien plans to attend
St. John's University, pursuing her law degree; and

WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
respected scholar and distinguished member of her community now stands
honorably with just pride in her accomplishments and in eager
anticipation of all her future endeavors and limitless opportunities;
and

WHEREAS, It is of utmost importance to honor the youth of today, the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Aleksandra Julien upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of the 2025 Citizenship Advancement Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Aleksandra Julien.
