HONORING Gianna Morales upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2025 Citizenship
Advancement Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people, within this great Empire State, who
have made strong contributions to their communities and serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Gianna Morales, upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2025 Citizenship Advancement Award, to be recognized at a senior
scholarship ceremony at General Douglas MacArthur High School on
Thursday, June 12, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Gianna Morales, committed to hard work, has achieved
excellence in academics, community service, and extracurricular
endeavors, justly earning this esteemed recognition; and

WHEREAS, A senior at General Douglas MacArthur High School, Gianna
Morales is a remarkable young woman whose high school experience has
been defined by her growth, leadership, and unwavering commitment to
making a difference; and

WHEREAS, Gianna Morales is a remarkable young woman who embodies
creativity, diligence, curiosity, and insight; currently maintaining an
outstanding GPA of 101.197, she has excelled academically while being an
active member of multiple honor societies, including the National Honor
Society, Math Honor Society, and World Language Honor Society; her
commitment to academic excellence is a testament to her hard work and
intellectual curiosity; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her academic achievements, Gianna Morales is
a well-rounded individual who engages in a variety of extracurricular
activities; as a four-year member of the varsity badminton team, she has
demonstrated her ability to work collaboratively and lead by example;
her participation in Girl Scouts until 11th grade and her role at
Hofstra Summer Camp highlight her dedication to community service and
mentorship, particularly toward younger individuals; and

WHEREAS, In the fall, Gianna Morales will be attending New York
University to pursue a career in medicine, specifically in pediatrics;
she has adopted the mantra, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is
ever wasted," reflecting her compassionate spirit and commitment to
making a positive impact on the lives of others; and

WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
respected scholar and distinguished member of her community now stands
honorably with just pride in her accomplishments and in eager
anticipation of all her future endeavors and limitless opportunities;
and

WHEREAS, It is of utmost importance to honor the youth of today, the
leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values cherished by this great State and Nation; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gianna Morales upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2025 Citizenship Advancement Award; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Gianna Morales.
