HONORING Mineola Middle School upon the occasion
of its designation as a "School to Watch" by the
National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform on
June 26, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend outstanding educational institutions within the State of New
York that exemplify excellence in instruction, innovation, and
commitment to the holistic development of their students; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
longstanding traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Mineola Middle School, located in Mineola, New York, upon the occasion
of its designation as a "School to Watch" by the National Forum to
Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed designation is awarded to select middle
schools across the nation that demonstrate outstanding performance in
the areas of academic excellence, developmental responsiveness, social
equity, and effective organizational structures; and

WHEREAS, Mineola Middle School joins an elite group of only 42
middle schools in New York State to be recognized with this honor, a
reflection of its sustained commitment to fostering a learning
environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of
all students; and

WHEREAS, The "Schools to Watch" recognition follows a rigorous
application and evaluation process, including in-depth self-assessment
and external review by experienced educators and program administrators,
designed to identify schools that serve as models of effective
middle-level education; and

WHEREAS, The recognition of Mineola Middle School underscores the
hard work, dedication, and vision of its leadership, faculty, staff,
students, and community in creating a school culture grounded in
excellence and continuous improvement; and

WHEREAS, Mineola Middle School will be formally honored for this
outstanding achievement at the National Forum's annual conference in
Washington, D.C. on June 26, 2025, joining a distinguished network of
nationally recognized Schools to Watch; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend
schools that inspire and empower young learners while setting a high
standard for public education in New York State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mineola Middle School upon the occasion of its designation as a
School to Watch by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades
Reform, and to extend sincere congratulations to the school community on
this remarkable achievement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mineola Middle School.
