MOURNING the death of Reginald Bernard Nance,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his
community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Reginald Bernard Nance died on Wednesday, April 30, 2025,
at the age of 57; and

WHEREAS, Reginald "Reggie" Bernard Nance distinguished himself in
his profession and by his sincere dedication and substantial
contribution to the welfare of his community; and

WHEREAS, As the Associate State Director of Multicultural Engagement
at AARP New York, Reginald Bernard Nance was in part responsible for
developing and implementing strategies to increase AARP's engagement
with multicultural audiences; this includes developing communications
tailored to specific communities, building community partnerships, and
ensuring diverse representation in AARP's programs and events; and

WHEREAS, A hardworking, dependable, and passionate man, Reginald
Bernard Nance also worked with staff, volunteers, and other
cross-organizational teams to achieve AARP's community engagement goals,
especially at the state and local level; he was highly skilled at
crafting comprehensive marketing and outreach strategies to reach
specific targets, goals, and objectives, among many other talents; and

WHEREAS, In every endeavor, professional or personal, Reginald
Bernard Nance acted with dignity and grace, and left a positive impact
on all those he had the pleasure of knowing; and

WHEREAS, Reginald Bernard Nance's commitment to excellence, and his
spirit of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise,
including charitable and civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Reginald Bernard Nance is survived by his mother, Betty;
father, David; siblings, Gregory, Chiquita, Tarsha, Rotunda, and
Precious; sister-in-law, Tamara; 14 aunts; 11 uncles; and a host of
nieces, nephews, and cousins; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Reginald Bernard Nance leaves behind a legacy which will
long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory
to all he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Reginald Bernard Nance, distinguished citizen and
devoted member of his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Reginald Bernard Nance.
