COMMEMORATING the Alpha Phi Alpha Senior Citizens
Center 2025 Summer Social on June 28, 2025,
celebrating 50 years of excellence

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions and individuals that enrich the lives of
older adults and exemplify a legacy of community service, excellence,
and compassion; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to commemorate the 2025
Summer Social hosted by the Alpha Phi Alpha Senior Citizens Center, to
be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in celebration of the Center's 50th
Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1975, the Alpha Phi Alpha Senior Citizens Center
has served as a vital resource for older adults in Brooklyn, offering a
warm, inclusive environment and providing critical services, social
programs, and recreational activities that promote independence,
dignity, and well-being; and

WHEREAS, This year's Summer Social not only marks five decades of
extraordinary service to the community, but also honors three
outstanding individuals whose contributions reflect the spirit and
mission of the Alpha Phi Alpha Senior Citizens Center: Elizabeth Gill,
Dr. Carol M. Grant, and Adam O'Neil; and

WHEREAS, These three honorees have demonstrated exemplary commitment
to uplifting seniors and supporting the broader community through their
professional, civic, and personal endeavors, each leaving a meaningful
impact through leadership, care, and advocacy; and

WHEREAS, The Alpha Phi Alpha Senior Citizens Center continues to
uphold the values of its founding fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity, Inc., by fostering a culture of respect, excellence, and
lifelong learning, and by honoring those who have paved the way with
grace and wisdom; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to join in the celebration
of the Center's 50th Anniversary, and to recognize the exceptional
individuals being honored at this milestone occasion; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 2025 Summer Social of the Alpha Phi Alpha Senior
Citizens Center, to be held on June 28, 2025, in celebration of 50 years
of excellence, and to honor Elizabeth Gill, Dr. Carol M. Grant, and Adam
O'Neil for their remarkable service and contributions to the senior
community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Alpha Phi Alpha Senior Citizens Center and the 2025
honorees.
