CONGRATULATING Assistant Chief Matthew Colella
upon the occasion of his retirement after more than
two decades of dedicated service to the Oneida City
Police Department

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and
dedication in service to their communities, significantly contributing
to the safety and quality of life of the citizens of New York State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Assistant Chief Matthew Colella upon the occasion of his
retirement, to be celebrated with deep appreciation and gratitude for
his distinguished service to the Oneida City Police Department and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Colella began his exemplary career in law
enforcement in 2005, and over the course of two decades, rose through
the ranks to become a highly respected and trusted leader within the
department; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Assistant Chief Colella has
exemplified the highest standards of law enforcement, serving with
honor, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to protecting the
citizens of Oneida; and

WHEREAS, As a mentor, a role model, and a steady presence within the
department, Assistant Chief Colella has earned the admiration of his
colleagues and the gratitude of the community for his steadfast
leadership, tireless work ethic, and compassionate service; and

WHEREAS, From his early days on patrol to his leadership as
Assistant Chief, he consistently demonstrated professionalism,
dedication, and an unyielding focus on public safety, always placing the
needs of others before his own; and

WHEREAS, Though he now turns in his badge, the legacy of Assistant
Chief Matthew Colella will endure in the continued excellence of the
Oneida City Police Department and in the lives of those he served and
inspired; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
the accomplishments and recognize the devoted public service of those
who have given so selflessly for the betterment of their communities;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Assistant Chief Matthew Colella upon the occasion of his
retirement, to commend him for more than 20 years of exemplary service
to the Oneida City Police Department, and to extend to him its sincere
best wishes for a happy, healthy, and well-deserved retirement; and be
it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Assistant Chief Matthew Colella.
