COMMEMORATING the 160th Anniversary of the
Spackenkill Union Free School District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of commitment and high achievement whose
purpose and endeavor have been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in
the education of the youth of this noble Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the Spackenkill Union Free School
District; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1865, the Spackenkill Union Free
School District has been an institution dedicated to academic
excellence, student success, and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, Having begun as a mere one-room schoolhouse, the
Spackenkill Union Free School District has since grown to include four
schools and serves around 1,500 students; and

WHEREAS, For 160 years, the Spackenkill Union Free School District
has provided a high-quality education, fostering a tradition of academic
distinction, innovation, and leadership among its students, faculty, and
staff; and

WHEREAS, The Spackenkill Union Free School District has consistently
upheld its mission to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and
character necessary to become responsible and contributing members of
society, ensuring all graduates embody a commitment to lifelong learning
and civic responsibility; and

WHEREAS, The educators, administrators, and staff of the Spackenkill
Union Free School have played a vital role in shaping generations of
students, instilling in them the values of hard work, perseverance, and
intellectual curiosity; and

WHEREAS, Throughout its history, the Spackenkill Union Free School
District has received numerous accolades for academic achievement,
extracurricular excellence, and community service, reflecting its
long-term dedication to fostering well-rounded students prepared for
success in higher education, careers, and beyond; and

WHEREAS, The Spackenkill Union Free School District's legacy of
educational excellence is a testament to the commitment and support of
its students, parents, teachers, administrators, alumni, and the entire
Spackenkill community; and

WHEREAS, In celebration of this historic milestone, the Spackenkill
Union Free School District continues to inspire and empower future
generations, ensuring a bright and promising future for all who pass
through its halls; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the Spackenkill Union Free School
District, recognizing its outstanding contributions to education and the
community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Spackenkill Union Free School District.
