COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of Roosevelt
High School - Early College Studies of Yonkers, New
York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishments clearly demonstrate an enduring
pursuit of excellence in the education of the youth of this noble Empire
State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Roosevelt High School - Early
College Studies of Yonkers, New York; and

WHEREAS, An educational cornerstone of the City of Yonkers,
Roosevelt High School was opened in 1926, and has grown into a revered
modern institution of excellence regarded for blending tradition with
innovation; and

WHEREAS, Roosevelt High School is renowned for its Early College
Studies program which offers students the opportunity to earn college
credits while enrolled in high school; with over 25 college-level
courses and two New York State-approved Career and Technical Education
programs, the school well-prepares students for entrance into both
higher education and the workforce; and

WHEREAS, The school's transformation throughout the course of its
distinguished history from a traditional high school to a
forward-thinking academic hub reflects its commitment to excellence,
equity, and opportunity, as well as to its diverse community of students
and families; and

WHEREAS, The steadfast and unyielding commitment of parents,
educators, and administrators to provide the highest quality education
for students has become the hallmark and tradition of Roosevelt High
School; and

WHEREAS, Today, Roosevelt High School stands prepared to reach out,
in earnest and enthusiastic quest of its mission, to promote the maximum
growth of every student, establishing standards and building skills
which will carry its students and the citizens of its community into the
future; and

WHEREAS, Roosevelt High School is proudly aware of its distinguished
past, eager to fulfill its present commitment to parents, students, and
the community, and is planning with vision and purpose for the
prosperous growth and change it will encounter in the years to come;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Roosevelt High School - Early
College Studies of Yonkers, New York; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Roosevelt High School - Early College Studies.
