MOURNING the death of Raymond J. Harting,
distinguished citizen, and devoted member of his
community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavors
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Raymond J. Harting died on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the
age of 82; and

WHEREAS, Born to George and Ellen Harting on February 15, 1943,
Raymond J. Harting spent his childhood in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, In his youth, Raymond J. Harting was educated in Catholic
schools, served as an altar boy, and was a long-time member of St.
Patrick's Church in Bedford, New York, before moving to Brewster, New
York; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from college in 1965 with a degree in
accounting, Raymond J. Harting worked for Peat Marwick Mitchell as an
auditor; and

WHEREAS, After establishing his career, Raymond J. Harting opened
his own firm in the early 1970s in Bedford Village, New York, where he
shared an office with his wife, Carolyn; and

WHEREAS, Raymond J. Harting was a veteran of the United States Army,
and his strong sense of duty led him to serve for more than six years as
a reserve after his active duty ended; and

WHEREAS, Raymond J. Harting's commitment to excellence, and his
spirit of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise,
including charitable and civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Together, Raymond J. Harting and his loving wife, Carolyn,
shared the pleasure of raising two children, Dennis and Debbie; and

WHEREAS, Raymond J. Harting was a lover of sports, with a special
interest in baseball and golf; he enjoyed spending time coaching kids in
various sports and cheering on his favorite teams, the Brooklyn Dodgers
and the New York Mets; and

WHEREAS, For more than 20 years, Raymond J. Harting was a member of
Mount Kisco Country Club, and he played many golf courses in Westchester
and Putnam counties; and

WHEREAS, Raymond J. Harting is survived by his wife of 56 years,
Carolyn; his son, Dennis; his daughter, Debbie Lindstrom (Michael); and
his granddaughter, Meagan Fulford; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Raymond J. Harting leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Raymond J. Harting, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Raymond J. Harting.
