MOURNING the death of Eugene P. Lee, distinguished
citizen, veteran, and devoted member of his
community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Eugene P. Lee of Somers, New York, died on Tuesday, June 3,
2025, at the age of 80; and

WHEREAS, Born in Mamaroneck, New York on March 5, 1945, Eugene P.
Lee was raised in Larchmont, New York, where he graduated from Salesian
High School in 1963; and

WHEREAS, Eugene P. Lee distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and

WHEREAS, A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Eugene P. Lee served
with honor in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1967; and

WHEREAS, Upon returning from his service, Eugene P. Lee dedicated
over 39 years of his life to working for the Larchmont Post Office,
where his warm personality and friendly demeanor made him a beloved
member of the community; and

WHEREAS, Eugene P. Lee's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors, and he was known for his kindness, love
of family, and his many years of service to others; and

WHEREAS, Eugene P. Lee was the beloved husband of the late Gloria
Lee, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; they raised their
cherished daughter, Patricia, together; and

WHEREAS, After retiring in 2005, Eugene and Gloria enjoyed 13 years
in West Palm Beach, Florida, before relocating to Somers, New York, in
2018; and

WHEREAS, Eugene P. Lee is survived by his daughter, Patricia Lee
(Christopher); his beloved grandchildren, Ryan and Kaylee; his sister,
Dale Bartoli (nee Guarino), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and
great-nephews, all of whom he cherished deeply; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Eugene P. Lee leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Eugene P. Lee, a distinguished citizen and devoted

member of his community, whose life and legacy will continue to inspire
all who knew him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Eugene P. Lee.
