Senate Resolution No. 1291

COMMENDING Danielle Johnson upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of a Liberty Medal, the
highest honor bestowed upon an individual by the New
York State Senate

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who demonstrate great courage and
diligence in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Danielle Johnson upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of a Liberty Medal, the highest honor bestowed upon an
individual by the New York State Senate; and

WHEREAS, The New York State Senate Liberty Medal was established by
Resolution and is awarded to individuals who have merited special
commendation for exceptional, heroic, or humanitarian acts on behalf of
their fellow New Yorkers; and

WHEREAS, Danielle Johnson, a licensed nurse who lives in Barneveld,
New York demonstrated remarkable compassion, ability and quick thinking
while dealing with a very difficult and intense situation; and

WHEREAS, While attending a Buffalo Bills game on September 18, 2025,
Danielle Johnson noticed that a man nearby had slumped over, and lost
color; and

WHEREAS, Being a licensed nurse who assists people with
developmental disabilities, Danielle Johnson quickly intervened and
checked for the man's pulse; and

WHEREAS, Unable to locate his pulse, Danielle Johnson immediately
began to administer CPR; and

WHEREAS, After five to ten minutes of CPR, Danielle Johnson was able
to bring the man back to life; and

WHEREAS, The emergency staff at the stadium were then able to take
the man to receive further medical care and treat him; and

WHEREAS, Danielle Johnson, in her spontaneous and heroic act, has so
aptly demonstrated her character and compassion for the welfare of
others, personifying, by virtue of her action, the collective concern of
ordinary citizens across the community of New York State who voluntarily
respond without thought of danger or reward when others are in need of
help; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Danielle Johnson upon the occasion of her designation as
recipient of a Liberty Medal, the highest honor bestowed upon an
individual by the New York State Senate; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Danielle Johnson.
