COMMENDING Dietra Harvey upon the occasion of her
induction into the 2025 Oneida County Historical
Richard W. Couper Living Legends Hall of Fame on
November 6, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those exemplary individuals whose dedication, vision, and
service have strengthened their communities and enriched the quality of
life across the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dietra Harvey upon the occasion of her induction into the 2025
Oneida County Historical Richard W. Couper Living Legends Hall of Fame,
to be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Oneida County
History Center in Utica, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Oneida County History Center, a private not-for-profit
educational institution, is dedicated to preserving the history,
heritage, and culture of the Greater Mohawk Valley for present and
future generations; through its Historical Hall of Fame and Living
Legends Celebration, it honors those whose character, leadership, and
service exemplify the highest ideals of citizenship; and

WHEREAS, A distinguished member of the 2025 class of Living Legends,
Dietra Harvey of Utica, New York, is a dynamic community leader,
problem-solver, mentor, and tireless advocate whose influence and impact
reach across the Mohawk Valley and beyond; and

WHEREAS, With more than 25 years of experience in human services,
Dietra Harvey has held numerous leadership roles that bridge local
government, nonprofit organizations, the arts, and grassroots
initiatives, all united by her steadfast commitment to uplifting and
empowering others; and

WHEREAS, Dietra Harvey has served as Administrator for the New York
State ESPRI (Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative) and as a
Commissioner on the Utica Civil Service Commission, roles through which
she has advanced equitable access, opportunity, and community
engagement; and

WHEREAS, As the owner of DDH Consulting, LLC, she provides strategic
guidance in personal and professional development, helping individuals
and organizations realize their fullest potential; and

WHEREAS, Deeply committed to civic service, Dietra Harvey lends her
expertise and energy to numerous boards and committees, including
YWCAMV, MUNSON, the Oneida County NAACP, the Mohawk Valley Frontiers,
and the Oneida County Youth Advisory Board, demonstrating her dedication
to diversity, equity, and community advancement; and

WHEREAS, Her exceptional leadership has been recognized through
numerous honors, including the 2016 Genesis Group Joseph R. Carucci

Legacy Award and the 2025 CNY Business Journal Nonprofit Award for Board
Development and Leadership; and

WHEREAS, Through her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering drive,
Dietra Harvey continues to inspire collaboration and progress, making
her a respected and unifying force in the Mohawk Valley community; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize
individuals of remarkable accomplishment whose lives exemplify the
principles of leadership, service, and civic responsibility, and whose
efforts leave an enduring positive impact on society; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dietra Harvey upon the occasion of her induction into the 2025
Oneida County Historical Richard W. Couper Living Legends Hall of Fame,
applauding her exceptional leadership, advocacy, and devotion to the
people of Oneida County; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dietra Harvey.
