HONORING Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the General Ira C. Eaker Award by the Civil Air
Patrol

WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate
their lives and careers to the service of others; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Cadet
Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood upon the occasion of his designation
as recipient of the General Ira C. Eaker Award by the Civil Air Patrol
(CAP) to be presented at the Banquet and Award Presentation on Saturday,
January 24, 2026, at the South New Berlin Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Operating in all 50 states, Puerto Rico (including the U.S.
Virgin Islands), and the District of Columbia and in more than 1,400
communities, the Civil Air Patrol is a congressionally chartered,
federally funded, 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation and serves as the
civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force; and

WHEREAS, The General Ira C. Eaker Award is the Civil Air Patrol's
second most prestigious award and is presented to cadets who have
demonstrated excellence in leadership, character, fitness, and Aerospace
Education; and

WHEREAS, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood, through his
diligence and rigorous efforts, has completed one of the highest levels
of achievement in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed young man is one of only two percent of
cadets nationwide to receive this prestigious honor; and

WHEREAS, Beginning the program as a fresh airman at age 12, Cadet
Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood, now 16, has grown into a competent
leader; and

WHEREAS, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood is an honor
student, Junior Class President, multi-sport varsity athlete,
percussionist, member of the student council, and Cadet Commander of
NER-NY-189; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his four year long Civil Air Patrol career,
Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood has earned level 1 ground team
certification, wilderness first aid certification, and staffed
encampments as flight Sergeant and flight Commander; and

WHEREAS, Recognizing the talent and dedication this young man
demonstrates, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood has been awarded
Cadet and Cadet NCO of the Year Awards from the VFW, AFA, and the AFSA,

the CAP achievement award, the CAP Commanders Award, as well as being
honor cadet and honor flight at multiple events; and

WHEREAS, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood's perseverance in
rising through the ranks of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is a
strong indication of his ability to master difficult tasks; his
accomplishments have enabled him to emerge as a leader, fully equipped
to meet the challenges of today's complex society; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the General Ira C. Eaker Award by the Civil
Air Patrol; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Aiden Lockwood.
