COMMEMORATING the 25th Anniversary of the band
Slug

WHEREAS, In the course of the evolving development of the Empire
State, there have emerged among its distinguished citizens certain
musical groups which warrant special recognition; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
illustrious bands of the State of New York, the focus and intent of
which have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the band Slug; and

WHEREAS, Stephen "Fletch" Fletcher, Bobby Moore, and Joe Trisolino
have been at the heart of Slug as its core three members for twenty-five
years, remaining constant and faithful to the act through a revolving
door of more than thirty other members; joined now by Michael Finley,
Walt "Gator" Darman, and TJ Rycraft, the band has recorded a new album,
"Slug 25," to commemorate its inimitable twenty-five years; and

WHEREAS, Blending the influences of bluegrass, country rock, blues,
Americana, and the Grateful Dead, Slug has cultivated an eclectic,
diverse sound that defies genres and has amassed a cult following; and

WHEREAS, After a long hiatus from recording, Slug stepped into the
studio again with Bob Aquaviva to create a polished record composed of
songs previously left unfinished or unrecorded, as well as brand-new
material; and

WHEREAS, Slug celebrated its twenty-five-year anniversary with a
limited-seating album release party at the Stanley Theater on Friday,
October 10, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Throughout its illustrious history, Slug has provided
continuous entertainment to its surrounding communities; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the band Slug; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the band Slug; and
