CONGRATULATING Abigail Luk upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors

WHEREAS, Abigail Luk, through her diligence and rigorous efforts,
has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony will be held at St. Edward the
Confessor Church in Syosset, New York, on Saturday, March 28, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Abigail (Abby) Luk, of Whitestone, is a member of Scouting
America Troop 205 in Syosset, New York; and

WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination, and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and

WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and

WHEREAS, Scouting America and its members are dedicated to the
development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; and

WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting is the
distinguished rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Abigail Luk has been involved in Scouting for many years,
has lived up to Scouting's ideals, and has attained all the necessary
achievements, including completion of a community service project, which
was successfully planned, developed, and executed; Abigail Luk
officially became an Eagle Scout on May 13, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Abigail Luk contributed her time and hard work to complete
her project for the Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) in Syosset; and

WHEREAS, For her Eagle Scout project, Abigail Luk designed and
created 11 sensory boards which provide various tactile and hands-on
activities that help children with special needs by exposing them to
various sounds, textures, and lights; and

WHEREAS, The sensory boards also assist with developing fine motor
skills and improve hand-eye coordination by reinforcing concepts such as
cause and effect, problem-solving skills, and other basic skills;
exploration of sensory boards, toys, and objects allows the children to
stimulate their senses at their own pace; and

WHEREAS, Abigail Luk's perseverance in rising through the ranks to
Eagle Scout is a strong indication of her ability to master difficult
tasks; her accomplishment will enable her to emerge as a leader, fully
equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society; and

WHEREAS, Abigail Luk's dedication to the well-being of the children
of the Variety Child Learning Center is represented through her devotion
to community and commitment to others; and


WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to her family, her school,
her community, her State, and her Nation; undoubtedly, her future will
be filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Abigail Luk on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Abigail Luk.
