HONORING Beth Hill upon the occasion of her
designation as Economic Development Partner of the
Year by the North Country Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Beth Hill upon the occasion of her designation as Economic Development
Partner of the Year by the North Country Chamber of Commerce, celebrated
at its 114th Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the
Warren Ballroom at SUNY Plattsburgh; and

WHEREAS, Beth Hill holds a Master of Arts degree in History from
American University; and

WHEREAS, Since 2010, Beth Hill has served as the president and CEO
of Fort Ticonderoga, the site of the American force's first offensive
victory in the Revolutionary War in 1775; the fort now serves as a
museum, a national landmark historic site, and a cultural and tourist
destination on the shores of Lake Champlain in Essex County, New York;
and

WHEREAS, A museum professional for more than 25 years, Beth Hill's
work at Fort Ticonderoga follows her career with the North Carolina
Department of Cultural Resources, Historic Sites Division; and

WHEREAS, Under the steady and able leadership of Beth Hill, Fort
Ticonderoga has undergone a prosperous organizational turnaround,
entering now into a period of strategic growth and reinvestment; and

WHEREAS, A true visionary and expert in her field, Beth Hill,
equipped with a passionate and dedicated staff, has transformed the Fort
Ticonderoga on-site visitor experience into a multi-day experience,
further strengthening her local economy and the profound history of our
great State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, Under Beth Hill's leadership, Fort Ticonderoga is executing
a multi-million-dollar multi-year capital improvement plan that is
expanding visitor experiences, strengthening educational programming and
enhancing the site's national visibility; the visitor experience now
utilizes all 2,000 acres of the property, bringing guests out onto Lake
Champlain on boats and to the heights of Mount Defiance; and

WHEREAS, Beth Hill has worked diligently to secure federal grants,
including awards from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and
the National Endowment for the Humanities, supporting major exhibitions,
collections accessibility, and expanded public engagement, undoubtedly
ensuring the success and longevity of such an impactful historic site
for centuries to come; and


WHEREAS, Businesses and their impactful leaders that give of their
time and energies to serve the best interests of their communities are
an asset beyond remuneration and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional leader and her contributions to her local
and State economies and their storied histories, fully confident that
she will continue to enjoy the sparkling successes she has experienced
thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Beth Hill upon the occasion of her designation as Economic
Development Partner of the Year by the North Country Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Beth Hill.
