HONORING Pastor Geraldine Felix upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition at the
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala on
March 22, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals whose lives of faith, service, and spiritual
leadership uplift communities and embody the enduring moral vision of
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Pastor Geraldine Felix upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala on
Sunday, March 22, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Born in 1962 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Geraldine Felix
demonstrated from an early age a profound spiritual devotion, often
ascending the mountains in prayer as a child, reflecting a calling to
faith that would shape the course of her life and ministry; and

WHEREAS, In 1977, at the age of 13, Geraldine Felix immigrated to
the United States, navigating the complexities of immigrant life while
remaining steadfast in her pursuit of education, attending Andres Huddie
Middle School, Midwood High School, and the City College of New York;
and

WHEREAS, A defining moment in Geraldine Felix's spiritual journey
occurred in 1982 during a prayer meeting, where was inspired to dedicate
her life fully to Christian service, soon evangelizing throughout
Brooklyn on buses, trains, and public spaces, and serving faithfully at
Remsen Church of God; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Felix's commitment to both faith and personal
development led her to Boston, Massachusetts, where she furthered her
education at the School of Architecture, demonstrating a dedication to
intellectual as well as spiritual growth; and

WHEREAS, Following her marriage in 1993 to Rev. Joseph N. Felix,
whom she met at a wedding and wed the same year, Geraldine Felix helped
establish and nurture a growing ministry, beginning with prayer
gatherings that developed into a church community in New Hampshire
before relocating to Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Together, Geraldine Felix and her husband founded and
expanded a congregation that began on Snyder Avenue and Church Avenue
before establishing its permanent home on Flatbush Avenue in 1998, where
Pastor Geraldine Felix has faithfully served alongside her husband in
ministry for more than 25 years as a devoted First Lady and spiritual
leader; and

WHEREAS, Continuing her theological formation, Geraldine Felix
earned a degree in theology from MKI University in 2022, further
equipping her for pastoral service and spiritual mentorship; and

WHEREAS, In celebration of her 60th birthday, Geraldine Felix was
ordained as a pastor, affirming decades of faithful ministry, prayer
leadership, and congregational care; and

WHEREAS, Affectionately known as a "Prayer Warrior," Pastor
Geraldine Felix is revered for her steadfast devotion to intercessory
prayer and her lived embodiment of the biblical exhortation to "pray
without ceasing," offering spiritual strength and encouragement to
countless individuals; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Felix's missionary service has extended
throughout the United States, including Boston and Florida, and
internationally to Haiti and the Dominican Republic, reflecting a
ministry grounded in compassion, outreach, and global Christian
fellowship; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pastor Geraldine Felix upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards
Gala, and to commend her for her lifelong devotion to faith, ministry,
prayer, and community uplift; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pastor Geraldine Felix as a lasting expression of the
highest respect and admiration of this Legislative Body.
