MOURNING the untimely death of GianRaul Yiango
Moreno Olivo, beloved son, grandson, brother,
cousin, nephew, and friend

WHEREAS, It is with feelings of deepest regret that this Legislative
Body records the passing of GianRaul Yiango Moreno Olivo, lovingly known
as "GMO", an extraordinary young man whose short, yet purposeful life
will long serve as a standard to which others might aspire; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo of White Plains, New York, died on
Sunday, January 25, 2026, at the age of 13; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo was born on May 18, 2012, to his
adoring parents, Denise Olivo and Raul Moreno, in East Meadow, New York;
and

WHEREAS, In the 13 years he graced this earth, GianRaul Moreno Olivo
touched the lives of everyone he met; he filled every space he entered
with connection, determination, and an unmistakable presence; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo was an adored 8th grade student at
Highland Middle School, and he was a proud member of the Purchase
College Men's Lacrosse Team through Team IMPACT, an active participant
at Breakthrough Physical Therapy, a two-year participant in the Run to
Breakthrough 100-mile run, and a participant in the St. Pius X Catechism
program; and

WHEREAS, Through his involvements, GianRaul Moreno Olivo found
belonging and friendship in the activities he enjoyed; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo found happiness in the simple parts
of life, and he was happiest when he was spending time with people he
loved, watching his favorite movies, sliding, swimming in wave pools,
splashing at splash pads, visiting the beach, and going on long walks;
and

WHEREAS, Above all, GianRaul Moreno Olivo loved to be around people,
and he was known to cherish the friendships he made at school and enjoy
the close bonds he had with friends such as Siena, Kevin, and his
brothers; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo will be remembered for his strong
personality and clear expectations; despite obstacles, he always made
sure his voice was heard, and his meaning, emotions, and presence were
always unmistakably clear; and

WHEREAS, Loving and caring for GianRaul Moreno Olivo taught his
family how to listen without hearing words, how to smile through
obstacles, how to move through hardship with grace, and how to love
through all experiences in life; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo is survived by his loving parents,
Denise Olivo and Raul Moreno; his four brothers, Alexander

Moreno-Crestejo, Collin Moreno-Crestejo, Luis-Antonio Moreno Olivo, and
Rafael Moreno Olivo; his grandmother, Elsa Olivo; his aunts and uncles,
Steve Yozcik, Linette Olivo, Elizabeth Richards, Jessica Adkisson,
Hassan Alyassin, and Edward Alyassin; his cousins, Andrew Yozcik,
Makaiya Adkisson, Christian Yozcik, Steven Yozcik, Marcos Valazques,
Morgan Richards, Lilianna Valazques, and Jax Richards; his devoted
caregivers and friends, Kevin Emanuel and Ada Eze; and many friends and
classmates; and

WHEREAS, GianRaul Moreno Olivo's infinite kindness and joy will
shine on through the memories his family and friends have of him; his
strength and resilience will forever serve as a beacon of love, light,
and hope to the countless lives he touched; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, GianRaul Moreno Olivo leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
who were privileged to have known and loved such an amazing young man;
he will be deeply missed and truly merits the grateful tribute of this
Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the untimely death of GianRaul Yiango Moreno Olivo, and to express
its deepest condolences to his family; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of GianRaul Yiango Moreno Olivo.
