COMMENDING the Eta Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma
Rho Sorority, Inc., upon the occasion of hosting its
Youth Symposium on March 14, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished organizations whose steadfast commitment to
youth empowerment, education, and leadership development strengthens our
communities and prepares the next generation for lives of purpose and
achievement; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Eta Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., upon
the occasion of hosting its Youth Symposium, to be held at St. Clair
McKelway School in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday, March 14, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1922 on the campus of Butler University in
Indianapolis, Indiana, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., was established
by seven visionary educators committed to advancing scholarship,
sisterhood, and service, principles which remain the cornerstone of the
organization's global mission; and

WHEREAS, For more than a century, the Sorority has provided
transformative programming, addressing education, health awareness,
community service, and youth development and creating pathways of
opportunity for countless young people throughout the United States and
abroad; and

WHEREAS, The Eta Nu Sigma Chapter has faithfully upheld this legacy
through impactful initiatives designed to mentor, educate, and inspire
youth, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools to excel
academically, professionally, and civically; and

WHEREAS, The Chapter's Youth Symposium serves as a dynamic forum,
bringing together students, educators, professionals, and community
leaders for workshops, panel discussions, and leadership development
sessions that foster critical thinking, innovation, and personal growth;
and

WHEREAS, Through mentorship, scholarship initiatives, and culturally
grounded programming, the members of the Eta Nu Sigma Chapter continue
to invest in the promise and potential of young people, reinforcing the
Sorority's national commitment to empowering future leaders; and

WHEREAS, The Chapter is led by Basileus Soror Frances Antoinette
Bates whose visionary leadership, administrative excellence, and
unwavering dedication to sisterhood and service guide the Chapter's
impactful work throughout the community; and

WHEREAS, Under Soror Bates's direction, alongside a devoted corps of
officers and members, the Chapter continues to expand its reach, deepen
its service, and uphold the highest ideals of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,
Inc.; and


WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that this Legislative Body pause
in its deliberations to acknowledge the significance of this Youth
Symposium and recognize the profound contributions of the Eta Nu Sigma
Chapter in shaping the minds, aspirations, and futures of our youth;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Eta Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., upon
the occasion of hosting its Youth Symposium on March 14, 2026, and to
extend sincere appreciation to its officers, members, partners, and
participants for their enduring commitment to youth empowerment and
community advancement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Eta Nu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,
Inc., in recognition of this auspicious occasion.
