HONORING Poinsettia Chapter No. 76, Prince Hall
Order of the Eastern Star, State of New York, upon
the occasion of hosting its 2026 Dinner Dance on
April 18, 2026
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those venerable institutions within the Prince Hall Masonic
Family whose works of charity, sisterhood, and moral uplift have
enriched the social, spiritual, and civic fabric of our communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Poinsettia Chapter No. 76, Prince Hall Order of the Eastern Star, State
of New York, upon the joyous occasion of hosting its 2026 Dinner Dance,
to be held on April 18, 2026; and
WHEREAS, This elegant and celebratory affair stands as a testament
to the Chapter's enduring commitment to fellowship, benevolence,
cultural enrichment, and community service, uniting Sisters, Brothers,
family, and friends in the spirit of charity, unity, and enlightened
purpose; and
WHEREAS, On this distinguished occasion, Poinsettia Chapter No. 76
pays special tribute to Junior Past Matron Linda Valentine, whose
dedicated service, steadfast leadership, and devotion to the principles
of Faith, Hope, and Charity have strengthened the Chapter and inspired
all who labor alongside her; her tenure reflects grace, diligence, and
an abiding commitment to the uplift of the Order and the community it
serves; and
WHEREAS, The Chapter further honors Past Matron Margo E. Abraham,
whose years of faithful stewardship and exemplary guidance have left an
indelible imprint upon the Chapter's growth and vitality; through her
wisdom, mentorship, and unwavering dedication, she has upheld the
highest tenets of the Eastern Star while fostering sisterly love and
organizational excellence; and
WHEREAS, Also recognized is Cynthia Settles, Director of the Falling
Angels Sickle Cell Foundation, whose compassionate advocacy and public
health leadership have brought hope, awareness, and critical resources
to individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease; her
humanitarian service exemplifies the charitable mission and outreach
embraced by the Order of the Eastern Star; and
WHEREAS, Providing visionary leadership for this auspicious occasion
is Worthy Matron Tania Hollensworth, whose administration has been
marked by integrity, poise, and a steadfast commitment to strengthening
the Chapter's charitable works, membership engagement, and community
presence; under her guidance, Poinsettia Chapter No. 76 continues to
flourish as a beacon of light, service, and sisterhood within the Third
District and throughout the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Through events such as this Dinner Dance, Poinsettia
Chapter No. 76 reaffirms its sacred bond to the principles of Prince
Hall Masonry and the Order of the Eastern Star-promoting charity,
cultivating fellowship, and advancing the moral and civic good of the
communities it so faithfully serves; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor and commend Poinsettia Chapter No. 76 upon the occasion of hosting
its 2026 Dinner Dance, and to recognize its enduring commitment to
service, sisterhood, and charitable excellence; and be it further
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body proudly recognizes Junior Past
Matron Linda Valentine, Past Matron Margo E. Abraham, and Cynthia
Settles for their outstanding contributions and well-deserved honors
bestowed upon this occasion; and be it further
RESOLVED, That sincere appreciation is extended to Worthy Matron
Tania Hollensworth for her distinguished leadership and devoted
stewardship of Poinsettia Chapter No. 76; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Poinsettia Chapter No. 76 and the aforementioned honorees
as a token of this Legislative Body's esteem and highest regard.
