COMMENDING Making the Impossible Possible, Inc.
Upon the Occasion of Hosting its Youth Summit 2026,
on March 20, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished organizations whose dedication to youth
empowerment, educational advancement, and community uplift strengthens
the future of our State, Nation, and global society; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. (MIPO, Inc.) upon the
occasion of hosting its Youth Summit 2026, to be held on Friday, March
20, 2026; and

WHEREAS, MIPO, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to
promoting the quality of life of immigrant youth and their families
residing throughout the New York metropolitan area through
transformative programming, educational initiatives, and leadership
development opportunities; and

WHEREAS, Through a diverse range of initiatives such as youth
summits, scholarship awards for graduating high school seniors, and
international educational partnerships, MIPO, Inc. works diligently to
ensure that young people are equipped with the tools necessary to thrive
academically, professionally, and civically; and

WHEREAS, The organization's impact extends beyond domestic borders
through its meaningful support of schools in Haiti, where it implements
both short- and long-term projects and provides professional development
training for educators, fostering improved teaching practices and
enhanced student achievement; and

WHEREAS, Through its intensive Teacher Leaders training model, MIPO,
Inc. empowers educators to utilize research-based methodologies,
multiplying the organization's impact by equipping trained leaders to
mentor and develop fellow educators within their institutions; and

WHEREAS, The Youth Summit 2026 serves as a dynamic platform for
young people to engage in workshops, leadership forums, mentorship
opportunities, and collaborative dialogue designed to inspire
innovation, cultivate confidence, and prepare participants to meet the
challenges of an evolving global landscape; and

WHEREAS, The vision and success of Making the Impossible Possible,
Inc. is guided by the exceptional leadership of its Founder and
President, Felina Backer, whose passion for youth development and
immigrant empowerment has been the driving force behind the
organization's growth and impact; and

WHEREAS, Supporting this mission is Sandra Bataille Nelson,
Co-Founder and Program Director, whose dedication to educational
excellence and programmatic development has helped shape MIPO, Inc.'s

initiatives and expand its reach among students, families, and
educators; and

WHEREAS, Together, the leadership, staff, educators, and volunteers
of MIPO, Inc. exemplify the transformative power of service, mentorship,
and cross-cultural collaboration; and

WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that this Legislative Body pause
in its deliberations to recognize the significance of this important
summit and to applaud the organization's unwavering commitment to
empowering youth and strengthening communities both locally and abroad;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. upon the occasion of
hosting its Youth Summit 2026, on March 20, 2026, and to extend sincere
appreciation to its leadership, members, partners, and supporters for
their enduring dedication to youth leadership and educational
advancement; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Making the Impossible Possible, Inc. in recognition of
this distinguished occasion.
