COMMENDING the Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter of
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., upon the occasion
of hosting its 70th Anniversary Gala

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished fraternal organizations whose enduring
commitment to service, brotherhood, scholarship, and community uplift
has positively shaped generations of leadership and civic engagement;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity,
Inc., upon the occasion of hosting its 70th Anniversary at a
commemorative Gala to be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1914, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., has long
stood as a pillar of advocacy, service, and intellectual advancement,
guided by the ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service and
dedicated to addressing the needs of the communities it serves; and

WHEREAS, For 70 years, the Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter has
faithfully upheld these principles through sustained civic leadership,
mentorship of youth, community service initiatives, and strategic
partnerships that have strengthened neighborhoods and uplifted families
across New York and beyond; and

WHEREAS, The milestone of this 70th Anniversary reflects not only
longevity but also the steadfast dedication of generations of Brothers
whose collective efforts have advanced social justice, educational
opportunity, and community empowerment; and

WHEREAS, Leading the chapter with vision and purpose is Donovan
Fraser, President of the Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter, whose guidance
ensures that the Chapter continues to exemplify the principles of Phi
Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., fostering scholarship, service, and
brotherhood within the community; and

WHEREAS, This celebratory occasion is proudly hosted in partnership
with the Nu Beta Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,
Inc., exemplifying the historic bond between Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity,
Inc., and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., an alliance rooted in shared
values, mutual respect, and collaborative service; and

WHEREAS, The presence of the Nu Beta Sigma Alumnae Chapter at this
Gala underscores the enduring legacy of fraternal-sororal unity and
collective commitment to uplifting the communities which both
organizations are pledged to serve; and

WHEREAS, The Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter's 70th Anniversary Gala
serves as a moment of reflection, celebration, and recommitment,
honoring the Chapter's storied past while inspiring continued
leadership, excellence, and service for generations to come; and


WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that this Legislative Body pause
in its deliberations to recognize this historic milestone and commend
the Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter for its distinguished legacy and
continued contributions to civic life; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity,
Inc., upon the occasion of hosting its 70th Anniversary Gala, and to
extend heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for continued growth,
unity, and service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Donovan Fraser, President, Gamma Rho Sigma Alumni Chapter
of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., with appreciation to the Nu Beta
Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., for its
partnership in commemorating this distinguished occasion.
