CONGRATULATING Chris Belmonte upon the occasion of
capturing the Boy's Wrestling Division I State
Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Chris
Belmonte of New Hartford, New York, upon the occasion of capturing the
Boy's Wrestling Division I State Championship on Saturday, February 28,
2026, in Albany, New York; to the praise and applause of his excited
fans, Chris Belmonte defeated all four of his opponents to win the
championship; and

WHEREAS, Chris Belmonte dominated the boy's wrestling state
championship competition, and he did not allow any of his four opponents
to score a single point; this impressive athlete spent just over four
minutes total on the mat during the tournament, with his most impressive
pin taking merely 35 seconds; and

WHEREAS, Chris Belmonte's championship win marks his school's 10th
state crown and his 150th career victory; and

WHEREAS, Family, friends, and the community loyally and
enthusiastically supported Chris Belmonte throughout his journey as he
ended his season with an impressive 50-1 overall record; and

WHEREAS, In a sport such as boy's wrestling, which demands athletic
prowess, speed and agility, Head Coach Dave Caruso and his skilled
coaching staff worked hard to hone the skills of this champion, teaching
this outstanding athlete lessons which will prove invaluable both on and
off the mat; and

WHEREAS, Coach Dave Caruso and Chris Belmonte have clearly utilized
dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Chris Belmonte and Head Coach Dave Caruso on their
outstanding season and overall season record; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chris Belmonte and Head Coach Dave Caruso.
