COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of Engler
Electric, Inc., on July 26, 2024

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Engler Electric, Inc., of Utica,
New York, on Friday, July 26, 2024; and

WHEREAS, In 1924, August W. Engler established Engler Electric,
Inc., in Utica, New York; throughout 100 years as a
family-owned-and-operated business, this icon of the City of Utica has
expanded and relocated on several occasions; the company moved its
operations to a mill building in 1958, to another location in 1981, and
finally into a newly constructed facility in 2021; and

WHEREAS, In 1974, James A. Engler, Sr., became President of Engler
Electric, Inc.; his son, James A. Engler, Jr., assumed the same role in
1999; and

WHEREAS, James A. Engler, Jr., has also served as President/Governor
of the Finger Lakes Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors
Association since 2004; additionally, he is a volunteer member of the
Board of Trustees of the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida
Counties; and

WHEREAS, Perpetuating the family tradition, James A. Engler III
commenced his employment at Engler Electric, Inc., in 2013, and Mathew
J. Engler started his career at the company in 2016; and

WHEREAS, Engler Electric, Inc., employs 25-45 individuals; over the
years, four Master Electricians have been employed by the company; and

WHEREAS, As a member of the National Electrical Contractors
Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers (IBEW) for nearly a century, Engler Electric, Inc., has worked
in the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential fields
throughout most of the Upstate New York Region; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pride that the Engler family, along with
their dedicated workers, celebrate this milestone 100th Anniversary and
anticipate many more years of success for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, The progression of Engler Electric, Inc., is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its owners and employees, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and the community
it serves; and


WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and State economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Engler Electric, Inc., on July 26,
2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Engler Electric, Inc.
