HONORING Marty Brochstein upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by Congregation
Beth Tikvah on June 7, 2026

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens who have devoted themselves to
community service and have significantly contributed to the vitality and
strength of their communities; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Marty Brochstein upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Congregation Beth Tikvah, to be celebrated at its Journal
Celebration on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Congregation Beth Tikvah in
Wantagh, New York; and

WHEREAS, Congregation Beth Tikvah, whose name means "House of Hope,"
stands as a vibrant and multifaceted Conservative Jewish synagogue,
formed through the unification of the former Farmingdale Jewish Center,
Wantagh Jewish Center, Israel Community Center of Levittown, and Temple
Beth-El of Bellmore, and continues to provide meaningful spiritual,
educational, and communal services to its members; and

WHEREAS, Marty Brochstein is being honored as a longtime leader and
devoted member whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the
Congregation Beth Tikvah community; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Wantagh since 1983, Marty Brochstein,
together with his wife Barbara, established deep roots in the community
while raising their children, Emily and Matthew, who celebrated their
B'nai Mitzvah within the congregation; and

WHEREAS, Demonstrating unwavering dedication, Marty Brochstein has
served Congregation Beth Tikvah and its predecessor institutions in
numerous capacities, most notably as a devoted davener and Torah reader,
including during the High Holidays, as well as serving as Lay Leader for
the Rosh Hashanah parallel service; and

WHEREAS, His leadership further extends to his role as co-Vice
President of Religious Affairs and as an active participant on numerous
committees, including religious affairs, journal, and both cantorial and
rabbinic search committees, reflecting his deep commitment to the
congregation's continuity and growth; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Marty Brochstein lends his talents as editor
of the monthly Beth Tikvah Times newsletter and as a member of the Men's
Club Board, strengthening communication and engagement within the
synagogue community; and

WHEREAS, Deeply rooted in a lifelong commitment to Jewish learning
and service, Marty Brochstein draws upon the religious foundation
instilled in him from his earliest days at home, in synagogue life, and
through his education at the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County; and


WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn and raised in Roslyn, New York, Marty
Brochstein was inspired by a family legacy of leadership and communal
involvement, including his father's service as President of Temple Beth
Sholom and role in founding the Solomon Schechter School of Long Island,
an institution which Marty and his family continue to support; and

WHEREAS, In his professional life, Marty Brochstein distinguished
himself over a career spanning more than three decades as a respected
business journalist, covering diverse industries including consumer
electronics, retail, and intellectual property licensing, and further
served with distinction as Senior Vice President of Licensing
International, contributing to research, education, publications, and
global public speaking initiatives; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Journalism, Marty Brochstein has exemplified excellence,
integrity, and dedication both professionally and in his community
service; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals whose lives of service and
leadership enhance the quality of life in their communities and serve as
an inspiration to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marty Brochstein upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Congregation Beth Tikvah on June 7, 2026; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marty Brochstein.
