COMMEMORATING the 124th Anniversary celebration of
the Birthday of the revered Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi
Menachem M. Schneerson

WHEREAS, The true architects of society and community are those
individuals whose faith, leadership, and commitment serve to sustain,
uplift, and strengthen the spiritual and civilized values for all of
humanity; the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson is one
such individual; and

WHEREAS, World Jewry is celebrating the 124th birthday of the
renowned and revered leader of World Jewry, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi
Menachem M. Schneerson; and

WHEREAS, The Rebbe's leadership continues to inspire humanity,
including his establishment of over 6000 Chabad Lubavitch Centers around
the globe, helping people of all walks of life, regardless of race,
color, or creed, throughout the world-from Australia to Africa, from
Alaska to Argentina, from Israel to India, from Moscow to Mumbai; and

WHEREAS, The Rebbe Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson's educational
activities throughout the globe have enriched and strengthened the
religious, educational, cultural and ethical fibers of all citizens of
the world; and

WHEREAS, The Rebbe Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, personifies a
remarkable and holy man who inspired countless Jews and non-Jews to
greater dedication, action and commitment in all matters "between man
and G-d" and "between man and man"; and

WHEREAS, The Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson proclaimed that the
time of the Redemption has arrived and "Moshiach Is On The Way" and
called upon all citizens of the world to prepare with a personal
commitment to increase all activities of goodness and kindness; and

WHEREAS, Today, in the United States of America, the Chabad
Lubavitch movement has centers and institutions in every State of the
Union; and

WHEREAS, Globally, the Chabad Lubavitch movement has over 6000
centers in over 1,000 cities in 102 countries all over the world; and

WHEREAS, This year, June 13, 2026, corresponding to 28 Sivan 5786,
we will celebrate 85 years since the Rebbe and his wife, Rebbetzin Chaya
Mushka Schneerson, miraculously escaped Nazi Europe and arrived to New
York in 1941; 770 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn New York is the World
Headquarters of the Chabad Lubavitch movement; and

WHEREAS, This year, beginning Sunday, March 29, 2026, corresponding
to 11 Nissan, 5786, the Rebbe's 124th birthday, to July 30, 2026,
corresponding to 16 Menachem Av, 5786, is celebrated as "124 Days of
Education," in honor of the Rebbe and his global educational
contributions and visionary leadership; and


WHEREAS, The Rebbe personified leadership, dignity, and grace,
focusing on noble global causes and humanitarian efforts for the benefit
of all of humanity, justly earning the devotion of his followers and the
admiration and respect of governments and people around the world; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the traditional observance of the Anniversary of the
Birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, and to
recognize his birthday on Sunday March 29, 2026, corresponding to 11
Nissan 5786, to July 30, 2026, corresponding to 16 Menachem Av, 5786, as
"124 Days of Education," in honor of the Rebbe and in tribute to the
leadership and educational accomplishments of the beloved Rebbe; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the son of Rabbi Shmuel M. Butman, the legendary Director
of the Lubavitch Youth Organization.
