HONORING Honorary Chief Andrew Martone Sr. upon
the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to
the Mineola Fire Department

WHEREAS, Citizens across our State and Nation are inspired by and
indebted to our noble firefighters who exhibit courage and bravery every
day in the course of their duties; and

WHEREAS, Firefighters exemplify the power of human compassion and
the strength of the American spirit through actions of the most heroic
magnitude; their sacrifices and their selfless dedication merit tribute
and recognition by all citizens of this great country; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Honorary
Chief Andrew Martone Sr. upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to the Mineola
Fire Department to be celebrated on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the
Cherry Valley Country Club in Garden City, New York; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Martone Sr. has consistently demonstrated a level of
commitment, dedication, integrity and professionalism which truly
exemplifies excellence in the fire service; and

WHEREAS, Andrew Martone Sr. has been a dedicated and valued members
of Truck Company No. 2 serving as a Trustee, Secretary, Chairman of the
By-Law Committee, Financial Secretary, and still active in the
coordination of many department events, parades, and committees; and

WHEREAS, With many relatives and generations of family in the fire
service, Andrew Martone Sr. has welcomed his three sons into the
department; he is a proud father to an Ex-Chief and now current Captain
of Company 2; and

WHEREAS, Continuing to provide guidance and support to his sons and
new members alike, Andrew Martone Sr. inspires the firefighters of the
Mineola Fire Department to further educate themselves in fire service
and continue to serve their community; and

WHEREAS, Through the years of sacrifice, Andrew Martone Sr.'s drive
to be present on the fire scene, assist in department functions, and
maintain strong bonds with the company members is what makes him a
pillar in the Mineola Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Firefighters unwaveringly serve our great State with pride,
valor, and integrity; these respected heroes are often the first to
respond to an emergency, whether the emergency is a fire, transportation
accident, natural disaster, act of terrorism, medical crisis, or spill
of hazardous materials; and

WHEREAS, It takes a special dedication, a strong desire to help
others and a tireless sense of community to forsake precious time with
family and friends to respond to the signal that a neighbor is in need;

Andrew Martone Sr. is such a firefighter; throughout 50 years of devoted
service, this firefighter heroically performed, above and beyond the
call of duty, those responsibilities which define the task of fire
protection; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Honorary Chief Andrew Martone Sr. upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service
to the Mineola Fire Department; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Andrew Martone Sr.
