COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the Oneida
Area Zonta Club on June 1, 2024

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals and organizations it wishes to
recognize for their valued contributions to the success and progress of
society and publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the
basic humanity among us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the
100th Anniversary of the Oneida Area Zonta Club celebrated at a
1920s-themed dinner on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Vernon Downs Hotel
in Vernon, New York; and

WHEREAS, Zonta International is a leading global organization of
professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy;
Zonta International envisions a world in which women's rights are
recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full
potential on an equal basis as men, and has grown to more than 29,000
passionate members in an impressive 63 countries; and

WHEREAS, Raising funds through their notable fundraising events, the
Billy Martin Circus and AMBA blood screening program, the Oneida Area
Zonta Club is able to give back in charitable and impactful ways which
serve for the betterment its local community members in a multitude of
capacities; and

WHEREAS, The Oneida Area Zonta Club supports a number of causes such
as Oneida Healthcare ER, as well as scholarships and awards for high
school and adult women; their main focus is advancing the status of
women, most notably through education; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Oneida Area Zonta Club is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Oneida Area Zonta Club on June
1, 2024; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Oneida Area Zonta Club.
