CONGRATULATING Liam Foy upon the occasion of
reaching 1,000 points in his career as a member of
the Bolton Central High School Boys Basketball Team

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play, and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical
development of the young people of this State, preparing them for the
future by instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a
standard of healthy living, imparting a desire for success, and
developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Liam
Foy upon the occasion of reaching 1,000 points in his career as a member
of the Bolton Central High School Boys Basketball Team; and

WHEREAS, Liam Foy is an outstanding scholar-athlete who excels in
many aspects in his community; from the court to the classroom, he
brings joy and hard work to all he does; and

WHEREAS, As a student at Bolton Central High School, Liam Foy has
made a profound impact on many of his peers, teammates, coaches,
teachers, and community; this exceptional athlete has been a major
contributing factor to the success of the Bolton Central High School
Boys Basketball Team and continues to bring his leadership skills and
his positivity to the program; and

WHEREAS, During the Bolton Central High School Boys Basketball
Team's championship game, Liam Foy scored his 1000th career point; his
team captured the championship with an impressive 65-49 win, ending the
season with an overall record of 26-1; and

WHEREAS, Thanks to the commitment and effort of Liam Foy, his fellow
players, and his coaches, this Bolton Central High School Boys
Basketball state championship title is the first state championship that
any Bolton Central High School athletic team has won in the school's
history; and

WHEREAS, Liam Foy has been rightfully praised for his many
achievements, and it is his strong work ethic, kind heart, and
willingness to always help and encourage others that makes him an
inspiration and significant part of his community; and

WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
exemplary athlete now stands honorably, with just pride in his
accomplishments and in eager anticipation of future challenges,
understanding and appreciating the caring counsel and support provided
by his coaches, teachers, and parents; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and
pay tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success

in athletic competition, have inspired and brought pride to our great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Liam Foy upon the occasion of reaching 1,000 points in his
career as a member of the Bolton Central High School Boys Basketball
Team; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Liam Foy.
