COMMEMORATING the 75th Anniversary of the White
Eagle Association of Utica, New York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have preserved important cultural
traditions and have faithfully served the welfare of the citizens of the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the White Eagle Association of
Utica, New York, to be celebrated at its 75th Anniversary Gala on
Saturday, April 25, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1950, the White Eagle Association has been
committed to preserving the traditions, language, and cultural identity
of those with Polish heritage; and
WHEREAS, With a desire to help members maintain a living connection
to their Polish roots, the White Eagle Association is one of the only
organizations in its region that still speaks Polish during regular
monthly meetings, allowing all members to gain experience with the
Polish language; and
WHEREAS, At the core of the White Eagle Association's mission is the
commitment to promoting Polish culture and fostering national pride
within the local Utica community; and
WHEREAS, Members of the White Eagle Association participate in
several events throughout the community to promote Polish heritage,
including the annual Polish Flag Raising Ceremony at Utica City Hall,
the wreath-laying at the General Casimir Pulaski Monument, and the
Polish Days celebrations in Utica and Syracuse, New York; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the year, the White Eagle Association
collaborates closely with the Polish Community Club by helping prepare
traditional Polish cuisine for events, organizing monthly meetings,
hosting annual picnics, and contributing charitable donations; together,
the two organizations are proud to use donations to aid blind children
in Poland; and
WHEREAS, The celebratory 75th Anniversary Gala will be a chance for
members of the club and community to celebrate the White Eagle
Association's strong history and promising future; attendees will enjoy
a formal dinner, champagne toast, live music, and remarks from the
honored guest, the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York;
and
WHEREAS, Members of the White Eagle Association and its local
community join in honoring this milestone and recognizing the profound
impact the White Eagle Association has had on the cultural landscape of
the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the White Eagle Association of
Utica, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the White Eagle Association.
