MOURNING the death of Thomas P. Lennane,
distinguished citizen and devoted member of his
community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavors
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and

WHEREAS, On March 10, 2026, Thomas P. Lennane, of Tomkins Cove, New
York, died at the age of 75; and

WHEREAS, Thomas P. Lennane was born to Andrew and Stella (Bachowsky)
Lennane in Mount Vernon, New York; and

WHEREAS, Thomas P. "Bean" Lennane grew up in the Bronx and attended
Holy Rosary School, followed by Cardinal Farley Military Academy; after
high school, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University
of Dayton; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Thomas P. Lennane worked as an HVAC
salesman, most notably at Blasco Supply; subsequently, he followed in
his father's footsteps, working on the picturesque waters of the Hudson
River; he spent more than 20 years happily greeting and safely ferrying
commuters on the New York Waterway route from Haverstraw to Ossining;
additionally, he was honored for his part in two rescues of boaters; and

WHEREAS, Active in his community, Thomas P. Lennane enjoyed coaching
for CYO Basketball, Just for Fun T-ball, and the Stony Point Little
League where he served as President; and

WHEREAS, Thomas P. Lennane was an automotive enthusiast and avid fan
of the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks; one
of the highlights of his retirement was his only trip to see the Giants
play in their home ballpark in San Francisco; and

WHEREAS, All along the way, Thomas P. Lennane made many lifelong
friends; he enjoyed being part of a large, loving family which included
his in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Thomas P. Lennane is survived by his wife of 46 years,
Donna (Bottalico) Lennane; sons, Andrew (Terri), Michael (Elizabeth),
and Daniel (Jaclyn); sister, Marilyn (Fouad); and grandchildren, Ava,
Luke, John, and Benjamin; he was predeceased by his parents and his
sister, Joyce; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Thomas P. Lennane leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Thomas P. Lennane, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Thomas P. Lennane.
