HONORING the Lewis Hayden Chapter No. 47 upon the
occasion of hosting its "Splash of Green" Community
Service Awards Banquet on April 19, 2026
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those organizations within the Masonic family whose steadfast
dedication to charity, service, and community uplift strengthens the
social fabric of our great State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Lewis Hayden Chapter No. 47, Prince Hall Order of the Eastern Star,
upon the occasion of hosting its "Splash of Green" Community Service
Awards Banquet, to be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Named in tribute to the legacy of Lewis Hayden, a freedom
fighter, abolitionist, and champion of justice, Lewis Hayden Chapter No.
47 stands firmly within the historic lineage of Prince Hall Affiliated
bodies that have long labored for the advancement, dignity, and
empowerment of underserved communities; and
WHEREAS, The Prince Hall Order of the Eastern Star, as an appendant
body of Prince Hall Freemasonry, has for generations upheld the sacred
tenets of Charity, Truth, and Loving-Kindness, providing a framework
through which its members may serve humanity with compassion, integrity,
and unwavering purpose; and
WHEREAS, Through its ongoing works, Lewis Hayden Chapter No. 47 has
distinguished itself as a beacon of light within its jurisdiction,
engaging in meaningful acts of service, supporting charitable
initiatives, and uplifting individuals and families through outreach,
fellowship, and benevolence; and
WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of Worthy Matron Genell Thom
and Worthy Patron William A. Dyson II, the Chapter continues to
flourish, fostering unity among its members while expanding its impact
throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, The "Splash of Green" Community Service Awards Banquet
serves as a proud and celebratory occasion, recognizing individuals
whose lives reflect the highest ideals of service, leadership, and
commitment to the betterment of mankind; and
WHEREAS, Such an occasion not only honors those who have given of
themselves in service to others, but also inspires all who gather to
continue their labors with renewed dedication and purpose; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
to honor the Lewis Hayden Chapter No. 47 upon the occasion of hosting
its "Splash of Green" Community Service Awards Banquet on April 19,
2026; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lewis Hayden Chapter No. 47, Prince Hall Order of the
Eastern Star.
