CONGRATULATING the Penn Yan Academy Boys Varsity
Lacrosse Team upon the occasion of capturing the
2025 NYSPHSAA Class D Boys Lacrosse Championship

WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought in
school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic achievements
and pays special recognition to those who pursue such excellence and
become examples for the youth of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and
physical development of athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Penn Yan Academy Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team upon the occasion of
capturing the 2025 NYSPHSAA Class D Boys Lacrosse Championship at Hobart
and William Smith's Boswell Field on Saturday, June 14, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Lacrosse is a part of Penn Yan's culture; the youth program
prepares boys and girls to be future varsity players; and

WHEREAS, To the applause of their excited fans, the Section V Penn
Yan Mustangs defeated Chenango Forks Blue Devils in a thrilling victory,
finishing with a score of 11-8; and

WHEREAS, Family, friends, and the community loyally and
enthusiastically supported the Mustangs as the team finished 21-2 for
the year; this victory is Penn Yan's first state title since 2001, their
second overall; from June 14, 2023, to June 14, 2025, the champions have
lost only one game to a Class D team; and

WHEREAS, In a sport, such as lacrosse, which demands athletic
prowess, speed, and agility, Head Coach Brian Hobart and his incredible
coaching staff worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team,
teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable
both on and off the field; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Brian Hobart, the coaching staff, and all the
outstanding athletes on the Penn Yan Academy Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team
have clearly utilized dedication, determination, and teamwork in
providing a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Penn Yan Academy Boys Varsity Lacrosse
Team, Colin Bacher, Cole Banach, Keegan Christensen, Ty Conover, Miles
Ditzel, Teagan Fingar, Braden Fingar, Levi Fisher, Tukker Fisher,
Harrison Fitch, Aven Foster, Michael Gigliotti, Aiden Griffiths, Greyson
Hathway, John Holly, Jaxon Jensen, Brody Keech, Logan Long, Carter
MacKerchar, Ti'Jai Moorer, Cole Murphy, Wilson Oliva, Ryder Sprague,
Will Thompson, Ethan Vandelinder, and Colt Walters, upon the occasion of

capturing the 2025 NYSPHSAA Class D Boys Lacrosse Championship; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Penn Yan Academy Boys Varsity Lacrosse
Team; Head Coach Brian Hobart; and Assistant Coaches Harry Queener,
Chris Redington, and Conner Fingar.
