MOURNING the death of Robin Savino, beloved
sister, devoted companion, and esteemed member of
her community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Robin Savino, beloved sister and devoted companion, of
Staten Island, New York, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the
age of 63; and

WHEREAS, Robin Savino was born on April 29, 1962, in Queens, New
York, the first born of Alexander Savino and the late Diane Savino, nee
D'Arcy; she grew up in Astoria and Jackson Heights, where she was formed
by the close bonds of family and the vibrant communities that would
shape her generous spirit throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, Robin Savino attended Most Precious Blood R.C. School and
Dominican Commercial High School, and went on to earn an associate
degree in business science from Queensboro Community College,
demonstrating from an early age the intellectual discipline and
professional ambition that would define her career; and

WHEREAS, Robin Savino built a distinguished professional life in New
York City, working as a secretary for several prominent firms before
finding her calling in the legal field as a legal secretary at Shearman
& Sterling Law Firm, one of the largest and most prestigious law firms
in the world; beginning in the secretarial pool, she rose through merit
and dedication to the position of secretary to a partner, earning
recognition from the firm for the exceptional quality and
professionalism of her work; and

WHEREAS, In 1999, Robin Savino met the love of her life, Edward
Tunstall, a retired New York City Fire Department Firefighter; together
they built a life of warmth, adventure, and deep companionship,
relocating from Bayside, Queens, to Rosebank, Staten Island, in 2004,
where they made their home and filled their years with travel, cruises,
and the joy of time shared with friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Robin Savino was predeceased by her beloved Edward in 2017,
and in her passing, they are reunited; and

WHEREAS, Robin Savino's commitment to excellence, and her spirit of
warmth and generosity, carried over into all aspects of her life, and
she was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a loving spirit and imbued with a fierce
capacity for joy, Robin Savino leaves behind a legacy of devotion that
will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting
memory to all she loved and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Robin Savino, beloved sister, devoted companion, and
esteemed member of her community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Robin Savino, including her sister, former
Senator Diane J. Savino; her brother, John Savino; her sister-in-law,
Jacqueline Ramos Savino; and her niece and nephew, Angelina and John
D'Arcy.
