CONGRATULATING Nicholas Tonorezos upon the
occasion of receiving the distinguished rank of
Eagle Scout, the most prestigious of Scouting
honors, on June 21, 2026

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos, through his diligence and rigorous
efforts, has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank,
Eagle Scout; the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Sunday,
June 21, 2026, at Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, Manhasset, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 71,
Plandome, New York; and

WHEREAS, America has achieved its greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and

WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain its glory; and

WHEREAS, Scouts BSA and its members are dedicated to the development
of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; and

WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned
by approximately five percent of all Scouts, is the distinguished rank
of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting
for many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all
the necessary achievements, including completion of a community service
project, which was successfully planned, developed, and executed; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos joined Troop 71 in 2021 following his
years as a member of Cub Scout Pack 101, where he earned the Chi-Rho
Award; and

WHEREAS, Through his years in Scouting, Nicholas Tonorezos developed
a deep appreciation for the outdoors and for the values of Scouting
during his time at Onteora Scout Reservation, Schiff Scout Reservation,
and Alpine Scout Reservation, experiences he shared with his brother
Max, a Life Scout in Troop 71; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos especially cherishes his second summer
at Onteora Scout Reservation, where he spent an additional week camping
with Manhasset Troop 97 and embraced the spirit of Scouting by sleeping
each night in his hammock; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his Scouting journey, Nicholas Tonorezos
developed valuable skills through numerous Merit Badges while forming
strong friendships with fellow Troop 71 Eagle Scouts James Griffith and
Matthew Milewski; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos faithfully served Troop 71 in the
leadership roles of Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol
Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, positions through which he
demonstrated dedication, initiative, and leadership; and

WHEREAS, As a leader within his Troop, Nicholas Tonorezos took great
pride in planning meetings and outings in ways that were both enjoyable
and impactful, always striving to create meaningful experiences for his
fellow Scouts; and

WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Nicholas Tonorezos
partnered with the Udalls Cove Preservation Committee to construct a new
trail in Great Neck Estates, creating a scenic route for local residents
and establishing a foundation for additional trails that have since been
added, thereby enhancing public access to the beautiful Udalls Cove
estuary; and

WHEREAS, A 2025 graduate of Manhasset Secondary School, Nicholas
Tonorezos was an active member of the Track and Cross Country teams and
continues to enjoy running, playing soccer, and spending time with
friends; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos recently completed his freshman year at
the University of Maryland, where he is majoring in Physics and Pure
Mathematics; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Tonorezos' perseverance in rising through the
ranks to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master
difficult tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a
leader, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex
society; and

WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Nicholas Tonorezos on achieving the rank of Eagle
Scout; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Nicholas Tonorezos. to Nicholas Tonorezos.
